BCYF in the Media: Leader Breeders Featured on WMAR

Leader Breeders, a BCYF grantee, led by Coach Tiny Adams, was recently featured on WMAR‑2 News for its summer camp program designed to keep Baltimore teens engaged, learning, and earning.

The camp offered hands-on experiences like résumé writing, cooking, robotics, and academic tutoring while paying participants a weekly stipend. More than just skill-building, the program provided mentorship, structure, and a safe space for youth to grow during the summer months.

With support from BCYF, Leader Breeders was able to prove that summer can be a launchpad, not a gap, for Baltimore’s young people. Teens are already asking for it to be extended, and that’s a sign it’s working!
