SXSW EDU
BCYF is headed to SXSW EDU 2026 in Austin, Texas, a national convening for education innovation, youth development, and equity-driven practice.
This four-day experience connects Baltimore’s leaders with groundbreaking ideas, national visibility, and new tools to strengthen our city’s youth ecosystem. As part of the learning lab, participants will explore innovations that can be brought home to Baltimore to fuel collective impact.
*We’ll publish a Learning Report after every conference, sharing what youth and community members said, what they learned, and how that learning turns into real actions for Baltimore’s Youth Master Plan.

Impact from Past Events
At SXSW EDU 2025, BCYF brought 15 Baltimore leaders to Austin. 100% of participants gained new strategies and connections, and 75% expressed interest in presenting at SXSW EDU 2026. Attendees highlighted innovations in youth-centered program design, coalition-building, and equity-driven education practices.

Event Details

- Format: In-person, national conference with plenaries, workshops, and networking sessions
- Cost/Registration Info: Registration opens Fall 2025. BCYF covers participation costs for Baltimore’s selected delegation; registration, stipends, travel, lodging, and meals will be provided.

SXSW EDU brings together international experts, policymakers, youth leaders, and educators. Sessions will cover equity and inclusion, youth-led advocacy, policy and systems change, social-emotional learning, and emerging technologies. Full 2026 lineup to be announced.
