Join us for the third event in BCYF’s BoardLight series, an evening designed for anyone who wants to engage with BCYF and Baltimore’s youth development ecosystem. Whether you’re curious about upcoming events, interested in youth leadership, or passionate about making Baltimore a better place for young people—this gathering is for you.
As Baltimore prepares to roll out the Youth Master Plan, organizations citywide will be asked to ensure that more young people have a real voice in decision-making. This BoardLight event helps us move toward that future—by exploring together how youth and adults can share power, practice equity-driven governance, and strengthen Baltimore’s youth development ecosystem.

Program Overview
BoardLight is BCYF’s ongoing conversation between our Board of Directors and the Baltimore community. This marks the 3rd event in the BoardLight Series, a series of information-sharing sessions brought to you by the BCYF board. Through this series, we’re creating open spaces for connection, collaboration, and idea-sharing that bring BCYF closer to the people we serve.
Each event has been different, reflecting the needs and interests of our community:
- BoardLight #1 September 2024: An introduction to BCYF—our history, mission, and work.
- BoardLight #2 April 2025: A focus on board opportunities, recruitment, and what it means to serve on a youth-centered board.
- BoardLight #3 (this event): A community dinner and conversation to launch the year, spotlight youth voice, and share opportunities to engage with BCYF.
