BCYF in the Media: Empowerment Through Aviation Featured in Enspire Magazine

Empowerment Through Aviation (ETA), a BCYF-funded initiative, was recently featured in Enspire Magazine as part of a story celebrating women-led efforts to expand access to STEM. The feature highlights ETA’s mission to support young women from Baltimore through high-quality flight training and mentorship—creating real-world pathways into the aviation industry.

Founded in 2020 to honor the legacy of Navy pilot and community advocate Brigitte Louise Jacobson, ETA provides flight scholarships and simulator experiences that give participants hands-on exposure to careers where women of color have been historically underrepresented.

Through BCYF’s support, ETA is helping to break those barriers—one flight at a time—by uplifting a new generation of confident, skilled, and inspired young leaders.
