BCYF in the Media: Beadly Speaking Featured in Baltimore Beat

BCYF grantee Beadly Speaking, led by Dyon Davidson, was recently featured in Baltimore Beat for its innovative summer camp, which combined jewelry-making with healing and leadership development for girls in Baltimore.

Over four weeks, campers learn how to create and sell handmade jewelry while also engaging in self-care practices like journaling, affirmations, and open conversations about emotional wellness. The experience ends with a youth-run marketplace, where participants showcase their work, interact with customers, and gain real-world business experience.

Davidson, inspired by her own family’s healing journey, created the program to help young people build confidence, creativity, and resilience through art and entrepreneurship.
