Project Description: A partnership between the Youth Resiliency Institute and the Cherry Hill Community Coalition, the Cherry Hill Reclamation Project is an out-of-school time culturally responsive civic-leadership project designed to develop Cherry Hill youths’ civic engagement skills and facilitate their participation in political processes in their community. The Cherry Hill Reclamation Project will harness the abilities and energy of youth and young adults residing in the Cherry Hill Community between the ages of 13-18 and 19-23 years of age. This project will support youth participants in designing, implementing, assessing, overseeing, and co-leading the project. Programming will be built on two age-appropriate modules: Leadership Development and Civic Engagement. Project participants will build their understanding of social and political issues impacting the Cherry Hill community. The Cherry Hill Reclamation Project aligns with community recommendations from both the Cherry Hill Community Coalition Master Plan and the Comprehensive Demographic Profile of the Cherry Hill Community. This year-long Project will engage (15) youth ages 13-18, (15) young adults ages 19-23 and (15) community elders Monday-Thursday and Saturday.
