Project Description: The Y’s New Horizons II Baltimore City program provides 45 homeless teens, ages 14-21, with a six-week summer experience covering life skills development, college and career readiness, social and emotional skill development, and paid work experience, while connecting youth to caring adults. New Horizons II (NHII) will be expanded into a year-round program, from September 2018 through July 2019. During the school year, youth will meet at the Historic Druid Hill Y the second Saturday of each month. Each session will be five hours, and youth will be paid a $60.60 stipend per session for their attendance. Additional sessions will be held on City Schools Professional Development days, including a week-long college tour, an overnight Leadership Retreat, Career Day, and Service Learning Day.
