Project Description: Fearlessly Loving Yourself (FLY) is a mentoring program for girls in Baltimore City. FLY is committed to inspiring confidence and personal advancement with the goal of promoting resiliency. The program strives to bridge opportunities of higher education, support sustainable life skills and expose participants to cultural experiences. FLY’s mentorship structure has three components: direct mentoring, group mentoring, and peer mentoring. This multi-leveled approach will support the well-being, learning and growth of their participants. Program session topics will include positive self-concepts, conflict resolution, drug and alcohol prevention, personal safety, healthy relationships, career development and readiness, and overall wellness. In addition to mentoring services, FLY will host monthly drop-in nights for youth ages 14-18 years old, to foster positive relationships in the community. The young people that will be assisted through group mentorship will be 48. The total number of groups that will be conducted in weekly mentorship will be 6 annually and the number of youth that will be served through drop-in night per quarter will be 30.
