Join the Associated Black Charities (ABC) and Frontline Solutions for our first Community Design Session. Input shared by community members during the session will help to shape the grantmaking priorities of the Baltimore City Children and Youth Fund (BCYF) in its first year.
You are Baltimore! So we think YOU should set the funding priorities for Baltimore’s Youth!
Join the Associated Black Charities (ABC) for our first Community Design Session. Input shared by community members during the session will help to shape the grantmaking priorities of the Baltimore City Children and Youth Fund (BCYF) in its first year.
In 2016, Baltimore City voters approved the creation of at $12 million non-lapsing fund dedicated to Baltimore youth and young adults.
In 2017, the Children and Youth Fund task force was convened and presented recommendations which stressed the importance of racial equity and community empowerment as core principles to guide the Fund’s design. ABC was chosen to anchor the process, and has since launched a planning team to support the Fund’s design and implementation.
Upholding our commitment to racial equity and community empowerment,, we will begin the BCYF’s design process by hosting a series of community design and listening sessions across Baltimore City. In these sessions, members of the community will be invited to share thoughts on the needs of local children and youth, and translate those needs into recommended investment priorities for Year 1. This community centered approach will guide the operation and the priorities of the Youth Fund over time.
All design sessions are FREE TO ATTEND, OPEN TO THE PUBLIC and open to ALL AGES.
COMPLIMENTARY REFRESHMENTS and FREE CHILDCARE will be provided.
