Youth Development 101 for Coaches
Learn best practices, as community-based programs, on how to coach young people into positive youth development.
Coaches are tasked, both intentionally and unintentionally, with a tremendous amount of responsibility for the healthy development of young people. Yet according to research by the Aspen Institute, only about 1/3 of all coaches in the United States have undergone any training; let alone training in youth development. This session is designed to arm coaches with a baseline understanding of healthy youth development principles from the coach’s perspective.
This session explores best practices for coaches who want to ensure their youth-development strategy is effective and backed by proven best-practices. This session will allow us to examine case studies and hear from subject matter experts.
Sponsored by the Baltimore City Children & Youth Fund, Maryland Mentors, and Strategic Resource Group (SRG).
This event is FREE and OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.
