BCYF People’s Assembly
The Baltimore Children and Youth Fund (BCYF) will be convening a public assembly that will provide residents in Baltimore an opportunity to provide their perspective on a wide range of issues, including:
- What the priorities of BCYF should be
- An assessment of the current youth service landscape
- What are promising practices and efforts to build on.
This will also serve as the needs assessment that will help provide information to the public about the ecosystem of youth serving organizations in Baltimore.
BCYF is committed to ensuring that the community has meaningful mechanisms of engagement and influence over the direction of the organization.
Given the commitment to liberatory practice, BCYF has taken great interest in forms of democratic governance that include communities that are typically excluded from decisions about how resources are distributed.
Additionally, the ordinance that establishes BCYF as a permanent entity requires that every three years, a community wide needs assessment is done to ensure that the organization is being responsive to the needs of the community.
There will be FREE CHILDCARE provided.
FREE Breakfast and lunch will be provided.
This event is FREE & OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.
