Relive the Magic of #BCYFmonth

The months five different areas of focus:

This inaugural campaign invites small businesses in Baltimore to make a difference by donating a portion of their August sales to support the Baltimore Children & Youth Fund’s impact programs and operations. We can create a brighter future for our city’s young people. The Baltimore Children & Youth Fund (BCYF) works to empower Baltimore’s youth and ensure their success. We disburse 80% of our budget to youth-serving organizations, with 88% being Black-led, effectively reaching those who need it most. By supporting BCYF, you play a vital role in creating our city’s thriving and equitable future.

August also marks International Black Philanthropy Month. Black Philanthropy Month is the world’s only global Diasporan community coalition and movement to celebrate and empower Black funding in all its forms, from philanthropy to venture and business investment.

This year’s Black Philanthropy Month theme is “Love in Action.” Black Philanthropy Month states: Our 2023 theme focuses attention on the root meaning of philanthropy as love for all humanity, including Black people. In the context of Black giving, we will highlight the power of Black self-love as an act of universal human rights that promotes racial, social, economic, gender, and environmental justice for our communities and the entire world.”

BCYF will participate in Black Philanthropy Month through its BCYF Month campaigns and on social media with a “by the numbers” campaign where we will share facts about BCYF.

BCYF remains true to this year’s theme by providing opportunities for donors, community members, grantees, and others to share their love in action by celebrating and engaging with Black Philanthropy Month and BCYF Month.
